Safeguarding at Holy Trinity is considered everyone’s responsibility, and as such our school aims to create the safest environment within which every pupil has the opportunity to be the best they can be.

Holy Trinity recognises the contribution it can make in ensuring that all our children feel that they will be listened to and appropriate action taken. We do this by working in partnership with other agencies and seeking to establish effective working relationships with parents, carers and other colleagues to develop and provide activities and opportunities throughout our curriculum that will help to equip our children with the skills they need.

The aim of our policy is to ensure that our school has effective measures in place to safeguard your children from the potential risk of harm and that the safety and wellbeing of the children are of the highest priority in all aspects of our school's work.  Having this policy in place ensures that our school community:

  • is aware of our responsibility in relation to safeguarding and child protection
  • knows the procedures that should be followed if there is a cause for concern
  • knows where to go to find additional information regarding safeguarding
  • is aware of the key indicators relating to child abuse
  • fully supports the school's commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Safeguarding is not just about protecting children from deliberate harm. It presents schools with a wide range of issues that they need to be prepared for.
