Computing is a creative subject used to engage, support and stimulate the pupils learning within other subjects of the curriculum. We believe that children come to school with computing knowledge and skills but it is up to us to refine and build on them. We aim to ensure that the lessons taught are cross-curricular, interactive, progressive and safe through monitoring and planning. We use "Switched on Computing" to support the pupils in their learning of computing skills. In lessons pupils have the opportunity to design, write and debug programmes and develop their understanding of algorithms.

E-safety and being safe online is a core aspect of the computer curriculum and there is inbuilt E-safety guidance in each unit. Throughout the year children are involved in assemblies and workshops about this key area. All children are taught about using technology responsibly and about the importance of keeping personal information safe.
